When looking at franchising a business you may think that it just requires building out the process of franchising and bolting it onto your existing business model. Whilst this can be done it is not what I would consider an optimal approach.

It’s all about ensuring that you have the right and solid foundation in place to Franchise. Otherwise, any weaknesses or areas of your current business that are not solid will be amplified during the expansion and franchising process. This might be sales, finance, handling complaints, or delivery.

Part of this validation process is to get a clear picture of your existing business, exactly where all aspects are sitting so that you understand what needs attention before you move down the franchising path. This is an essential part of the Franchise Validator Program that we have developed.

The other key point on timing is your time availability. You as the driver and the business owner must have time and space to be involved, guide, and drive the evolution of your business down this path. If this is not the case it will be very difficult to make the required progress promptly.

Franchising is a long path and can take many years sometimes to get a business to a stage to sell the first franchise. But, when you grow from the ground up with good roots. You are bound to succeed.
